Invaluable vitamin B supplement for all birds

The members of the vitamin B group seem to act primarily as parts of the enzyme systems. They participate in a number of types of chemical reactions, most of which effect the transfer of energy. Hence they play a key role in the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. In addition they are involved in the regular functioning of the gastrointestinal system, nerve functions and the myocardial tissues. Some of the B vitamins aid the formation of red blood cells and antibodies and most are necessary for a healthy skin.

Except for the ruminant species, all animals require a dietary source of the B vitamins as the intestinal synthesis is insufficient, sometimes by as much as 80%. A lack of these vitamins leads to a number of deficiency diseases, which are unfortunately not always recognized as such.
