Dr S CalciBoost Liquid Calcium

Teeth and bones use a lot of calcium, and breeding mothers and growing youngsters can run low. Dr S CalciBoost is a liquid calcium made with chelated calcium, so it is well absorbed, plus magnesium and vitamin D3.

If you are looking at calcium for guinea pigs, rabbits or rats, talk to your vet first about how much calcium your pet already gets from its diet. Then use CalciBoost at the label rate in drinking water or on food.

Talk to your vet about calcium: Rabbits and guinea pigs absorb a lot of the calcium they eat, and too much is linked to bladder sludge and stones. Ask your vet whether your pet needs extra calcium before you start, and stick to the label rate.

This is a nutritional supplement. It does not diagnose, treat or cure illness. For animal use only. Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I give CalciBoost?

Once or twice a week for non-breeding animals, and up to five times a week for breeders. Do not give it more than five days a week.

Do rabbits and guinea pigs need extra calcium?

Many do not, and too much calcium is linked to bladder problems in both. Ask your vet before adding a calcium supplement.

Can I give it on food instead of water?

Yes. Use 0.1 to 0.2 ml per 100 g of bodyweight, diluted in a little water and mixed into food.

Should I use vitamins as well?

DrS recommends pairing calcium with a daily vitamin, such as Daily Essentials 1 or Tiny Animal Essentials.
