Frequently Asked Questions

How much do I mix?

Add one level teaspoon to each gallon of fresh drinking water. Stir until dispersed, or allow the powder to dissolve. Follow the current package label.

Should this be the only water?

No. Offer the mixed water alongside a separate source of plain fresh water. Do not restrict water to make birds drink the supplement.

How often is fresh water prepared?

Prepare fresh drinking water and clean the waterer daily. Discard dirty or contaminated water immediately.

Is this a treatment for illness?

No. It is a nutritional poultry supplement, not a medication, and is not a treatment for diarrhea or disease. Birds that cannot drink, or that show severe heat stress, persistent diarrhea, lethargy, or dehydration, need veterinary care.

Can it be mixed with medications?

Ask the prescribing veterinarian first. A supplement may change taste or water intake, and some medications need untreated water.
